Can tanning be beneficial?

After reviewing the pros and cons of indoor and outdoor tanning, nearly 30 million Americans are turning to indoor tanning facilities to help maintain their tans in a controlled environment and minimize the risk of sunburn.

Tanning is a form of relaxation, but males and females tan for a number of reasons.

Most associate tanning with one to two things, skin cancer or great looks, but can one actually gain something from indoor tanning?

Tanning can be beneficial for a number of reasons.

According to tan advisor.com, sessions in a tanning bed are particularly helpful for individuals suffering from psoriasis, osteoporosis, seasonal depression, acne and many other things.

Whether tanning indoors, or by natural sunlight, tanning becomes unhealthy when the skin starts to burn.

According to an MSNBC study, indoor tanning was most popular in the Midwest, where sunny weather is limited

Kearney has at least 10 facilities that have tanning units

The debate isn’t about pros and cons. It is about being informed about what tanning can do for you, and how it could potentially benefit you.

  1. I tan twice a week for 15 minutes each time...it makes me feel confident about my appearance and look slimmer. It also gives me a little nap during lunch time!
